PETER NIKIFORUK
Dr. Peter N. Nikiforuk holds engineering degrees from Queen’s University and Manchester University. Shortly after obtaining his doctorate he joined the faculty of the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan where he excelled as a teacher, researcher and contributor to technical and professional committees. He was Dean of the College for 23 years and was recognized as an exceptional, visionary, wise, inspiring and widely respected leader. Leadership contributions to committees include those to the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, NRC, NSERC , APEGS Board of Examiners and the, Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
His outstanding achievements have been recognized and awarded with many honours and accolades including Fellow- Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, Fellow – Engineering Institute of Canada, Fellow – Royal Society of Canada, APEGS Distinguished Service Award, Rotary of Saskatoon – Rotary Golden Wheel Award for Excellence in Science and Technology, Saskatchewan Centennial Medal and Dean Emeritus of the College of Engineering. The College of Engineering has established in his honour – The Peter N. Nikiforuk Innovative Teaching and Learning Center.
