DAVID GEORGE GOODENOUGH
With degrees from the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto David Goodenough is an internationally recognized expert in remote sensing. He has been a principle research investigator and private sector consultant for more than 40 years and has proffered award winning expertise in related applications including astronomy, computer science, computer engineering, forestry, agriculture, oceanography, geography, and geology.
David is also a prodigious writer and presenter (over 270 publications and 780 presentations). He is an IEEE designated Distinguished Speaker and has served several technical societies in leadership roles at the national and international levels. He is currently an Adjunct Professor, Department of Computer Science, at the University of Victoria. He continues to actively advance his field of expertise through his research and teaching of engineering students and serves CSSE/SCIS in local and national officer capacities. David has received numerous recognitions for his research, academic and voluntary services including a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the 2004 Gold Medal Award from the Canadian Remote Sensing Society.
