Mme. Marie Lemay

Mme. Lemay has excelled as an engineering leader.

Marie’s early years were in municipal engineering in the City of Gatineau, Quebec, where she became the Chief of Project Development and later Director of Technical Services for the Chelsea Municipality.

As CEO of Engineers Canada, Marie instituted a number of organizational changes and was instrumental in championing more effective government relations and national collaboration on behalf of its Provincial and Territorial constituents via the Canadian Engineering Leadership Forum.

In January 2007, Marie was appointed the first CEO of the National Capital Commission (NCC). (Previously, the NCC Chair fulfilled both chair and executive responsibilities.) Marie has emphasized the importance of ethics and values in the planning and implementation of the Commission’s operations and in the development of a long range vision for the National Capital.

Marie Lemay has earned the wide respect of her business associates and of the many persons nationally and internationally with whom she has interacted.

Marie Lemay is an inspirational model for young women contemplating a career in engineering.
