Michael (Mike) Taylor
Mike Taylor has excelled as an engineer in both military and civilian capacities. His 20 years of service in the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy, beginning as an Ordinary Seaman and rising to the rank of Commander, were followed by 23 years with the Atomic Energy Control Board / Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. During these years with the AECB / CNSC Mike was assigned a series of increasingly responsible assignments retiring as Executive Director, Regulatory Affairs.
Mike Taylor is a very personable individual who earned the wide respect of his AECB / CNSC colleagues and, equally, the respect of the many persons nationally and internationally with whom he interacted. His quiet demeanor served as a ‘velvet glove’ for his firm resolve in implementing regulatory decisions.
