Karl H. Doetsch

Dr. Karl Doetsch is an Aeronautical Engineer who began his Canadian career with the NRC prior to joining the fledging Canada Space Agency where he led the Canadarm program, Canada’s Astronaut Program, and the Canadian Space Station Program.

Following roles as Director General of the Space Station Program, VicePresident of Human Space Flight, Vice-President of Programs, Acting President, and Chairman of the Space Plan Task Force, Karl became the founding President of the International Space University.

Karl is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute, is an University of Kingston Honorary Doctor of Engineering, and recipient of the Royal Society of Canada Thomas Eadie Award, the NASA Public Service A ward, the Allan D. Emil Award of the International Astronautics Federation and the C.D. Howe
A ward of the CASI.

Internationally, nationally and professionally, Karl has been a volunteer
leader.
