John Patrick Newhook, PhD, PEng, FCAE, FCSCE
Dr. Newhook is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Dean (Acting) of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at Dalhousie. He is a Professor Civil and Resource Engineering and is also the Faculty’s Director of the Centre for Innovation in Infrastructure.
Upon earning his BEng in Civil Engineering from TUNS, Dr. Newhook interspersed a decade as an engineering and project manager in construction with earning his doctorate in structural engineering.
For more than 30 years, John has provided distinguished research and expert structural engineering advice to various Atlantic Canadian companies.
Dr. Newhook’s extensive volunteer activities with APENS and as an adult and youth curling coach have also been deservedly recognized.
