DAN MACDONALD
With degrees in Science and Engineering from St. Francis Xavier University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Dan MacDonald has enjoyed a forty-year career in design and project management throughout the Atlantic Region, working in the fields of marine engineering, mining and environmental engmeenng.
Dan began work with Public Works Canada before joining the Cape Breton Development Corporation where he worked extensively in the coal mining industry. As Director of Engineering, he was responsible for some 450 million dollars-worth of construction. Presently with CBCL Ltd., he provides services to heavy industry, marine, power generation and large scale remediation projects, notably the remediation of the Sydney
Tar Ponds. He is currently the Project Manager for the Marine Atlantic Terminal Project.
Dan has been active in Engineers Nova Scotia, serving on Council and as President. He is now serving a second term as Councillor.
For his devotion to the engineering profession, both as an active and highly regarded consultant Dan was awarded the F.H. Sexton Gold Medal by Engineers Nova Scotia in 2013.
