He is a Professor Civil and Resource Engineering and is also the Faculty\u2019s Director of the Centre for Innovation in Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Upon earning his BEng in Civil Engineering from TUNS, Dr. Newhook interspersed a decade as an engineering and project manager in construction with earning his doctorate in structural engineering.<\/p>\n<p>For more than 30 years, John has provided distinguished research and expert structural engineering advice to various Atlantic Canadian companies.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Newhook\u2019s extensive volunteer activities with APENS and as an adult and youth curling coach have also been deservedly recognized.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seniorengineers.ca\/csse\/2022-may-12-virtual-meeting\/\">Go Back<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Patrick Newhook, PhD, PEng, FCAE, FCSCE Dr. Newhook is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Dean (Acting) of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at Dalhousie.
