MacDonald, P.Eng, FEC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following graduation from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (1981) and obtaining an M.Sc.in Mining Engineering from West Virginia University, Robert (Bob) MacDonald embarked on a career as a mining engineer in Cape Breton. This has involved the design and operation of coal mines and in recent years the management of the Environmental Remediation Program which included the development of post remediation care and monitoring programs. He was Executive Director, General Site Remediation, for Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation for 5 years prior to being General Manager and Director of the Cape Breton Development Corporation for 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>Bob was President of the Mining Society of Nova Scotia in 2008 and received the Mining Society of NS Medal in 2014 for contributions to the NS mining industry. He was awarded a CIM Fellowship in 2009 for outstanding contributions to the Canadian Mining industry and CIM. Bob is a member of Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS) and was President in 2015-16. He is currently serving a second term as Councillor. He received the ENS J.D.
