Neil Cumming

Neil Cumming, P.Eng, FEC, FACI

Neil Cumming is a civil engineer and business leader with over 40 years of experience as a consultant in the engineering and construction industries. Neil spent most of his career with Levelton Consultants Ltd., where he enjoyed success in a number of technical, managerial and leadership positions. Neil joined the company shortly after completing his B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1977. Neil has contributed his knowledge and expertise in the construction materials engineering field to thousands of projects in Canada and the US, including many of BC’s largest and most high profile projects such as the Alex Fraser Bridge, the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Sea to Sky Highway, the new Port Mann Bridge, the Millennium and Canada Lines of Vancouver’s rapid transit system, and the Site C Clean Energy Project.

During his career, Neil has been active with numerous technical committees of the Canadian Standards Association and the American Concrete Institute. He was a Director of the Consulting Engineers of BC (now ACEC-BC) from 2001 through 2005, and served as President in 2003-04. In 2012 Neil was honoured by the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada with the Beaubien Award, the highest distinction that can be conferred on a consulting engineer, for his contribution to the advancement of consulting engineering. He is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and of Engineers Canada.
