Marcia R. Friesen Ph.D., P.Eng., FEC
Dr. Marcia Friesen is the Dean of The Price Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba and Professor of the Centre for Engineering Professional Practice & Engineering Education.
She is distinguished as an accomplished engineering teacher in undergraduate, graduate, and post-baccalaureate programs, including new course development and widely recognized as a creative researcher in engineering practice, culture and identity in the engineering profession. Along with her proven administrative and leadership experience in collaboratively leading people and projects that engage all engineering departments, regulatory, government, and institutional stakeholders, Marcia has also been highly engaged in the external practice community. The Association Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada recognized her recently with an award recognizing her leadership in advancing leadership and inclusion.
Dr. Friesen is a registered professional engineer with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba and a Fellow of Engineers Canada.
