Colin Dickson

Colin Dickson, P.Eng, FEC

Colin Dickson graduated from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1988 with a B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering. He subsequently obtained a Master of Business Administration in 2008 from Saint Mary’s University. Colin has been a valued member of the engineering community in Atlantic Canada for over 30 years and has established an impressive career in the Engineering profession holding key roles with several high profile companies and originations within Atlantic Canada. This includes serving as founder and President, Industrial Engineering Systems Limited (IES) – 1999 to the present. Throughout this time, Colin has been an active participant in professional and community affairs. He is a long-standing member of the Board of Examiners and Finance Committee for Engineers Nova Scotia as well as a member of the project Management Institute and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. His volunteering contributions to the profession were recognized when he was made a Fellow of Engineers Canada in 2008.

Since, 2011, Mr. Dickson has performed the role of Engineer-in-Residence and Sessional Lecturer for the Faculty of Engineering, Civil and Resource Department of Dalhousie University. Through this program, he is able to pass on his experience and wisdom to a new generation of potential engineers.
