Axel Meisen, CM, PhD, PEng, EurIng, FCAE, FCIC, FIEI
Following a PhD in Chemical Engineering from McGill University, Dr. Meisen progressed academically to become Dean of Applied Science at UBC. Subsequently, Axel was appointed President of Memorial University, which he led for eight years.
As an accomplished thought leader, Dr. Meisen was appointed the inaugural Chair in Foresight at the Alberta Research Council.
Axel’s volunteer leadership has been demonstrated as a President of the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering, Canadian Academy of Engineering, Canadian Commission for UNESCO , and Fusion Energy Council of Canada. As well, Axel is the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Research, Innovation and Technology Advisory Council Chair.
